Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal to host trade and investment collaboration event with High Commission of Canada

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal has partnered with the High Commission of Canada in South Africa, to host an engagement for the KwaZulu-Natal business community to explore opportunities to build economic relations with their counterparts from the North American country.

The Canada/KZN Business Day is part of TIKZNÂ’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign direct investment to the province and facilitate trade of local products.

Sihle Ngcamu, TIKZN's Acting CEO, said he looks forward to welcoming the diplomats and company representatives from Canada. "Canada is a sizable investor in South Africa, with investments primarily in the mineral and mining sectors, agro-processing, hospitality, and ICT. We are one of the leading importers of Canadian goods and services in Africa. In 2022 alone, trade between the two countries amounted to more than US $2 billion, of which exports from South Africa to Canada, accounted for more than 80%. We are confident that engagements at the Canada/KZN Business Day will result in concrete partnerships which will build on the already positive bilateral economic relations between Canada and our province." said Ngcamu.

Executives from Canadian companies operating in KZN will share their experiences as well as outline company prospects and expansion plans in the province.

The event is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date:     25 October 2023
Venue:  Radisson Blu Hotel, Umhlanga
Time:     09:30 for 10:00
